It’s the week between Christmas and New Year, which I find very relaxing, but for some, not so much. Ok wait, relaxing isn’t quite the right word. My kids are loud and the mess is abundant but the pressure to do more is gone, and I can be in my pajamas until noon, which has felt pretty nice. Up until now, of course, when the newsletter is due and the end of winter break is so close I could touch it. See, when the new year comes, there will be less tangible distraction to keep me from my work, and more of the invisible pull on my attention. Less dishes, and more self doubt. Less of the mom can you help me, and more of the I can’t believe you have no career.
